Cool Celebrity Image

1) Find a picture of a band or of anyone really, as i have used this one of Frank Lampard... and paste it into a new document 400 (width) x 400 (height). Fill the background in with the colour #0040ae.

2)Use the quick selection tool to select ONLY the person in the photo, and put them in a new layer (right click>layer from copy).

3) Delete the original layer of the photo so you are left with only the person and the blue background in the image. Now select your person's layer, and go to Image>Adjustments>Desaturate.

4) Keeping this layer selected, go to Image>Adjustments>Threshold. Move the slider until you find a image with plenty of detail.

5) Now this is your chance to choose how your person is shown. Still on this layer, change the layer's blending options as shown below to either screen (left) or multiply (right).

6) Add some nice text to the top or get a turorial to make a nice background for it to make it more intersting. For mine I have used gradients, text, more gradients and patterns.
