Sportsman Wallpaper

1) Create a new document the size of 1024 px (width) x 768 px (height) and fill it in the colour #000000. Then find a nice picture of a sportsman, or anyone really, but a sportsman works better.

2) Copy the picture into the document, and using the quick selection tool, select ONLY the person in the photo, and put them in a new layer (right click>layer from copy). I found this one of Oldham Athletic's Gary Mcdonald, but unfortunately I am not allowed to say where from for copyright reasons.
3) Delete the original layer of the photo so you are left with only the person and the blue background in the image. Repeat steps 2&3 until you have 3 people different sizes on your canvas.4) Hide 2 of the people and then select the person's layer that is not hidden. Then duplicate the layer and go to Filter>Blur>Motion Blur. Follow these settings.
5) Move the Motion Blur layer below the original picture. Then duplicate the Blur 2 twice (so you have 3 of them) and then merge those three layers. You should be left with something like this.
6) Do the same for the other 2 people on the canvas, but keep all of the Motion Blurs underneath the original pictures. This way there can be no Motion Blurs going over the top as there can be a lot of overlaping. When you are finished you should have something like this.
7) The next step is to make a scoreboard or caption at the bottom of the image. This makes it look better and can show what the picture is about.
THIS PART CAN BE SKIPPED IF NOT WANTED.

7a) Using the rectangle tool, make a box that stretches across the whole image and over both sides. This box should be coloured #000000.
7b) Now we can make the effects of this banner by making an Outer Glow. The colour of this should be the same as one of the main colours of the picture. Follow these settings.
7c) Set the layer's fill option to 0% and add the desired text layers. You should end up with something like this.
8) That is it! I hope it was easy to follow and useful for you. Please leave comments and send me YOUR finished piece on car2nhazza14@fsmail.net
